3rd December 2016 - UD win v Diego Gonzalo Luque

Big things to come

Jack Catterall is an up-and-coming star in British boxing. A tricky customer, Catterall took zeros from two opponents in 2014.

At just 23, Catterall is still learning. Now under the guidance of trainer Haroon Headley, the future looks very bright.

Having sparred with legend Floyd Mayweather Jr and classy Middleweight Canelo Alvarez, the experience can only have helped with Catterall's development.

On the rise

A late stoppage victory over Thomas Stalker in October 2014 after dropping the former Olympian twice early put Catterall firmly on the map.

He made multiple defences of his WBO Intercontinental title, including the impressive showing against unbeaten Jarkko Putkonen in a shut out decision win, which pushed the slick southpaw up the World rankings.

Another victory, this time becoming the first man to stop Noe Nunez on December 19's show in Manchester closed 2015 with a bang.

Three wins in 2016

Catterall continued his good form in 2016 with a trio of victories, including two defences of his Intercontinental belt. Joe Hughes and Lukasz Janik were brushed aside on points.

Towards the end of the year he teamed up with coach Haroon Headley, and the first fight under the new trainer resulted in a one-sided win over the tough Diego Gonzalo Luque.

The Chorley talent is eyeing some big fights over the next 12 months as he looks to assert himself at World level.
