Adrien Broner is predicting a tough night’s work on Saturday 18th February when he meets Adrian Granados live on BoxNation.
Speaking during training camp over the holiday season, ‘AB’ revealed: “I ain’t never met the man, I just know he’s a hell of a fighter.”
Granados wiped out previously unbeaten Amir Imam, who racked up an impressive 18-0 record with 15 stoppages prior to the fight in November 2015, which has only enhanced his reputation.
“He’s just come off a fantastic, electrifying win against a great prospect who they were bringing his name up to fight me. He went out there and stopped him! I want to congratulate him on that.”
The American Granados has drawn comparisons with Marcos Maidana, who handed Broner his first professional defeat, given his Mexican descent but the four weight World Champion insists: “There is only one Maidana and he’s retired!”
Whilst Granados’ record reads four defeats, two came via a split decision and the other two a majority decision result, with Broner aiming to be the first man to stop the 27 year old.
“He’s got nothing to lose, he’s fighting for the opportunity to be where I am. That’s why he’s very dangerous. He can fight. I know this is not going to be a walk in the park,” concluded ‘The Problem’ who was talking with FightHype.
